Find out how many years until you could live off your savings, and the Freedom Number that gets you there. All figures are in today's euros, no inflation applied.

FIRE stands for Financial Independence, Retire Early. It's the idea of saving and investing enough money that the returns alone can cover your living expenses, so working becomes optional, whenever you choose.

Years to FIRE

Your Freedom Number

The amount of savings that lets you stop working and live off it, forever.

This is based on research showing you can typically withdraw about 4% of your savings each year without running out, so your Freedom Number is roughly 25 times your annual expenses.

Projected FIRE year

Fill in your monthly expenses to see your Freedom Number.

A simplified projection in today's euros, with no inflation applied to expenses or the target. Each investment category compounds at the constant annual return you give it (real markets are volatile), and your existing net worth grows at the average of those returns. It assumes your monthly amounts and expenses stay flat, and that the withdrawal rate you choose is sustainable. The 4% rule is a rule of thumb, not a guarantee. For direction, not a plan.
